Be you

That's a statement in itself. Be you. So many of us, including me, at certain times of our life feel the need to be what someone else wants. Does it make us happy, does it make you feel more deserving of that persons love. Plain and simply. No it does not.

When I saw this paper line at my local Michaels I knew it would inspire me to create something different. Something that was me and something that spoke of who I feel I need to be to achieve my dreams.

The base of this project is a chipboard surface I found at my local dollar store. I gesso'd it and then applied a second layer of jesso through a stencil to give it a textured surface.

I inked the background with Tim Holtz acrylics and distress ink to bring out the texture. I used the Authentique paper line called Be(you)tiful. So cute!! I covered the chipboard letters with the paper and used the stickers from that line as well. A little top off with some Tim Holtz ribbons, twine and lace.
